How to update your operating system

Windows XP

1. Open Microsoft Internet Explorer (Start->All Programs)
2. Go to: http://update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate/v6/default.aspx
3. Click Scan for Updates" on the Windows Update Page (http://update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate/v6/default.aspx)
4. Click Review and install updates.
5. Click Install now
6. Restart your computer

Enable Automatic Updates in Windows XP

1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. Depending on which Control Panel view you use, Classic or Category, do one of the following:
Click System, and then click the Automatic Updates tab. or
Click Performance and Maintenance, click System, and then click the Automatic Updates tab.
3. Click the option that you want. Make sure Automatic Updates is not turned off.

Windows Vista

1. Click the Start menu (the Windows icon in the lower left corner of your screen)
2. Click All Programs
3. Click Windows Update

Mac OS 10.3 or later

1. Click on the Apple menu (the Apple picture in the top left of your screen)
2. Click Software Update
3. Click Check now
4. Enter an Administrator account name and password
5. When the update is complete, restart your computer.
6. Repeat steps 1-5 until there are no more updates to apply to your computer
